Dr. Brandon Henderson OTD, OTR/L, CHT

Owner & Clinical Director

Dr. Brandon Henderson is a highly accomplished occupational therapist with a passion for excellence in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2016, a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Barry University in 2020, and a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Baylor University in 2022.

Following his doctorate, Brandon earned the prestigious Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential—an achievement requiring over 4,000 hours of specialized practice, three years of dedicated experience, and passing a rigorous national board exam. This distinction underscores his expertise and commitment to delivering top-tier patient care.

With extensive experience in outpatient hand and upper extremity therapy, Brandon has progressed from a staff occupational therapist to clinical director and lead certified hand therapist (CHT). He has led teams, mentored occupational therapy students, and ensured the highest standards of patient care. His journey reflects a commitment to excellence in patient care, strategic leadership, and professional development. His approach combines evidence-based practice, clinical innovation, and a deep commitment to improving functional outcomes for his patients.

Outside of the clinic, Brandon enjoys time with his wife, Haley, and is a proud girl dad to his daughter, Palmer. He enjoys playing pickleball and golf with friends and family.

Dr. Hailey Newgent OTD, OTR/L

Occupational Therapist/Hand Therapist

Dr. Hailey Newgent is an Occupational Therapist with advanced training in hand and upper‑extremity rehabilitation, supported by a strong foundation in exercise science and human performance. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Florida Atlantic University in 2021 and completed her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy at the University of Florida in 2025.

Hailey has extensive experience in the hand therapy setting, treating conditions ranging from the fingers to the shoulder. Her clinical rotations included the UF Orthopedic Sports Medicine Institute in Gainesville, where she refined her skills in post‑surgical care, tendon and nerve injury rehabilitation, and functional strengthening. She also completed her doctoral capstone at Baptist Health Outpatient Rehabilitation, where she observed multiple hand surgeries, deepening her understanding of upper‑extremity injuries and surgical recovery.

She is skilled in fabricating custom orthoses and developing individualized treatment plans that support healing, movement, and functional restoration. Hailey is passionate about helping patients regain confidence and return to the activities that matter most to them.

Outside of the clinic, Hailey enjoys running, reading, and cooking.

Christina Montoya MS, OTR/L

Occupational Therapist/Hand Therapist

Christina Montoya is a licensed occupational therapist with a strong foundation in hand therapy and a passion for inclusive, patient-centered care. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences with a minor in Disability Studies from the University of Florida in 2019, followed by a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Florida International University in 2021.

Christina began her clinical journey in hand therapy during her graduate rotation under the mentorship of Brandon Henderson, where she developed a strong foundation in upper extremity rehabilitation, post-surgical care, and functional restoration. Since 2021, she has continued to work in hand therapy and rehabilitation settings, refining her skills in manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and adaptive strategies for daily living.

At The Hand Lab, Christina provides individualized treatment planning, evidence-based practice, and progressive therapeutic exercise to address mobility, pain, and performance in daily activities. She is committed to clinical excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, and advancing the practice of hand therapy through compassionate, outcomes-driven care.

Outside of the clinic, Christina enjoys teaching dance and spending quality time with her family.

Monica Gonzalez MS, OTR/L

Occupational Therapist/Hand Therapist

Monica is a licensed Occupational Therapist dedicated to providing personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique goals and needs. Prior to joining our team, Monica completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Florida International University in 2020, giving her a strong foundation in human behavior, empathy, and patient-centered care. She went on to earn her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Florida International University in 2024.

During her clinical training, Monica completed a rotation under Brandon Henderson, where she gained hands-on experience treating a variety of conditions involving the hand and upper extremity. This experience sparked her passion for hand therapy, where she now focuses her practice—providing skilled, evidence-based interventions to restore function, promote healing, and help patients return to the activities that matter most to them. In addition to her work with upper extremity patients, Monica also brings valuable experience from pediatric settings, where she supported children in reaching important developmental milestones.

Outside of the clinic, Monica enjoys spending time at the beach and reading, activities that allow her to recharge and maintain a healthy balance between her personal life and her commitment to patient care.

Tyler Henderson

Office Manager & Patient Care Coordinator

With a Bachelor's degree in Business & Economics from Greensboro College and extensive experience in sales, Tyler brings a wealth of expertise in business operations, client relations, and strategic growth. Tyler is the heart behind our clinic’s welcoming spirit and operational excellence. With a strong foundation in sales and management, he brings invaluable leadership experience to our clinic.

Tyler is known for his personable nature, genuine kindness, and tireless work ethic. Clients and staff alike are drawn to his approachable demeanor and unwavering commitment to service. Whether he’s coordinating care, supporting therapists, or simply greeting clients with a smile, Tyler ensures that every person who walks through our doors feels seen, heard, and valued.

His unique blend of business acumen and heartfelt compassion helps our clinic run smoothly while maintaining a warm, client-centered environment. Tyler believes that healing begins with connection—and he’s here to make sure every experience reflects that belief.
